Final Report
The Senior Cup final was contested by Cork County and Harlequins. Cork County had a comfortable win over Co. Galway in the first round by 104 runs and then beat surprise packets Waterford Vikings in the semi-final, courtesy of Joe Murphy's 99 not out in a total of 164. Having disposed of the holders, Limerick, in the first round, Harlequins then overcame UCC in the semi-final.

A solid opening partnership of 60 between Steve Hickey and Shane Connole put Cork County on the road to their Cup Final score of 218 for four in their 60 overs. While Steve Hickey provided the necessary stability with a sheet anchor 65, the innings of the day came from Joe Murphy whose attacking 47 gave the innings the necessary momentum. Gareth Holland kept the momentum going also with a good 39 not out. All the Harlequins' attack bowled steadily throughout without showing much penetration - the most dangerous being off-spinner Eoin McTiernan. This total always looked beyond the reach of a largely inexperienced Harlequins side and only Michael McTiernan was able to put together an innings as left-armer John Power and off-spinner Ray Wong did the damage.
