This could well have been a big weekend in the race for the divisional play-off spot after St Johnston's unbeaten league run was ended unceremoniously at Burndennett while Eglinton capitalised with a crushing win at home to Ardmore and a not-so-convincing verdict at Sion Mills.

How ironic that Bonds Glen's relegation from Division 1 was confirmed despite a crushing 7-wicket win over Creevedonnell, Glendermott's defeat of Brigade meant that the Bee Gees 2-year top flight sojourn has come to an end for now at least.

This is a crunch week for Donemana in terms of their league challenge but the Holm side made a perfect start to it when recording an impressive 113-run victory over Glendermott on Wednesday night.

It was certainly a case of highs and lows for Division 2 sides last weekend and none more so than Eglinton whose double-header cup final programme turned out to be a a real bitter-sweet affair.

Players and spectators alike can look forward to an enthralling weekend of domestic cricket action upcoming as the season now heads towards what has the makings of a nail-biting finale.

The North West Under-19 final had all the makings of a really good contest but few would have guessed just how well matched Coleraine and Donemana were to be when the pair locked horns at Eglinton on Friday evening.

We're well used to the production line of cricket talent that has existed at the Holm for a generation or more but Sunday past saw the final chapter in a success story that must surely have surpassed even the Tyrone club's expectation.
