Bryan Clarke
Uddingston
Age 19. Plays for Uddingston as a wicket-keeper batsman. He is in his second year in this squad, after a very successful season behind the stumps in 1998. He is the only married member of the team, a trainee electrical engineer and a Celtic supporter, and has played National League hockey as a goalkeeper.

Alastair Rawlinson
Drumpellier
Age 19. Right hand bat slow left arm bowler. Has been in outstanding form this season for his club Drumpellier who play in the Scottish National Cricket League First Division. A first team regular sine the age of 16, he is developing into a top class left arm spinner and more than useful batsman. He scored 66* this season against the Scottish Champions in the NCA Cup. He lives in Airdrie and is studying Projct Design at Caledonia University Glasgow.

Gordon Drummond
Meigle
Age 19. He is a steady medium-pace bowler and stylish middle-order batsman who played for the Scotland Under 16 side in 1996 and is a student at Edinburgh's Telford College. He enjoys hockey, football and golf.

Neil Fleming
Greenock
Age 18. Neil is a leg-spinner, a capable lower- order batsman and a fine fielder. He is at college at Gourock, but learned his cricket well north of there at Inverurie. He played for the Scotland Under 16 side in 1997, has attended specialist leg-spin courses at the Durham School of Excellence and at Headingley and enjoys golf.

James Forrest
High School of Glasgow & Clydesdale
Age 17. He is an opening bowler and a hard-hitting lower-order batsman. He represented Scotland at Under 16 level in 1998 and has represented Glasgow at hockey and the high jump.. He also plays rugby and golf

Steven Gilmour
High School of Glasgow & West of Scotland
Age 17. Steven is an upper-order batsman and an occasional medium-pace bowler. He was in the Scotland Under 16 squad for two years, has played rugby for Glasgow at Under 18 level and is interested in golf and socialising.

Peter Jack
East Kilbride
Age 18. An opening bowler and tail-end batsman. He played for Scotland at Under 16 level in 1997 and has just made his first appearance for the Scotland B XI. He enjoys football and snooker.

Greig Peal
Arbroath United
Age 18. A fiercely competitive leg-spin bowler and lower-order batsman who is an outstanding fielder. He plays for Arbroath United when his commitments as a french polisher with a pine furniture company allow. He represented Angus at basketball and is keenly interested in music.

Gavin Pitt
Prestwick
Age 19. He is an upper-order batsman, occasional medium-pace bowler and occasional wicket-keeper. He played for Scotland at Under 16 level in 1995 and 1996, captaining the side in 1996. He is also interested in football, golf and socialising.

Graeme Watson
Falkland
Age 17. A left-handed opening batsman and occasional purveyor of off-spin. He represented Scotland at Under 16 level in 1998, scoring 89 against England. He has been accepted to read Art at university.

Paul Watson
Falkland
Age 19. Brother of Graeme, both of whom have played for Falkland for some years under the captaincy of their father Brian. He is a right-handed top order batsman and an occasional medium-pace bowler. Played for Scotland at Under 16 level in 1996; he also plays professional football at Junior level and holds the ECB Coaching Award.

Jim Love
Manager
Age 43. Jim is a right hand bat who made his debut for Yorkshire in 1975 for whom he was an outstanding performer. He played in three one-day internationals for England against Australia in 1981 and won the Man of the Match Award in the Benson & Hedges Cup Final in 1987. He holds, with Chris Old, the record 7th wicket partnership in the B&H-149* in 1981 against Scotland! Jim was appointed SCU Director of Cricket in October 1992 and is married with two young boys aged 10 and 8.
