Austria v France: 25 July

France finished the competition with a 106 run win over Austria. Making first use of the wicket the French openers Arun Ayyavooraju with 23, and Gareth Edwards with 40 added 77 for the 1st wicket before both went in quick succession. Captain Shabbir Hussain hit 23 and shared in a 40 run stand with Javed Ijaz who made 26. Guy Brumant was in top form as he scored a very quick 61 before being caught off the bowling of Aman Deep. Deep had figures of 3 for 45, and Wolfang Tesar bowled well taking 2 for 53.

Austria never challenged the French total but will have been heartened by the display of Tim Simpson who top scored with 33. Erwin Grasinger, Wolfgang Tesar and Lakmal Kasturiarachchigge all reached double figures but Austria in the end were bowled out for 103. Guy Brumant was the best of the French attack with 3 for 17, while Buddhi Attanayake took 2 for 12.
