ECB England are the Champions!

ECC logo A highly successful tournament ended in the most thrilling way possible as England defeated Ireland by just one in the final match of the tournament to claim the European title. Going into the final day, England, Ireland and Scotland were all possible winners but then Scotland fell to Holland by 3 runs, leaving England and Ireland to fight for the title. With one ball remaining, Ireland need three runs to win against England at Waringstown, but they could manage just a single.

Gibraltar retain the Division 2 Title

Gibraltar retained the Division 2 title they had won in Glasgow in 2002 - although they and Germany both recorded four victories, the title went to Gibraltar by virtue of their six run win over the Germans.

Chapman and Ahmad are Men of the Tournament

ECB England's Steve Chapman was selected as the Division 1 Man of the Tournament for his excellent performances with both bat and ball. In Division 2, the award went to Germany's Farooq Ahmed for his outstanding spin bowling.
