A Timeline of Guernsey Cricket

1813 A combined Guernsey and Alderney team is beaten by Jersey by an innings.
1862 Cricket is well established by this time, with annual matches taking place between Elizabeth College in Guernsey and Victoria College in Jersey.
1866 Combined Channel Islands team plays the United England XI in Guernsey.
1867 Combined Channel Islands team plays the United England XI in Guernsey.
1927 The Guernsey Cricket Association is formed.
1957 First inter-insular match against Jersey ended in a draw.
1961 Guernsey win the inter-insular match for the first time.
1990 Guernsey host and win the European Cricketer Cup, beating Belgium in the final.
2002 Guernsey beat Jersey in the inter-insular match, ending a 10 year unbeaten run for Jersey. Guernsey won in the next four years too.
2005 Guernsey becomes an affiliate member of the ICC.
Guernsey tours Scotland, whitewashing the Scotland Academy in a three-match one day series.
2006 Guernsey finish fifth in Division 2 of the European Championship.
2007 Guernsey win the first inter-insular Twenty20 match.
2008 Guernsey becomes an associate member of the ICC.
Guernsey hosts Division 2 of the European Championship, finishing as runners-up to Jersey.
2009 Guernsey hosts Division Seven of the World Cricket League and are runners-up to Bahrain, gaining promotion to Division Six.
Guernsey finish third in Division Six of the World Cricket League in Singapore.
2010 Guernsey host and win Division Two of the European Championship.
Sussex Second XI play two matches in Guernsey against the national side, winning them both.
2011 Guernsey jointly host the European Twenty20 Championship with Jersey. They finish fourth, losing to their co-hosts in the third place play-off.
Guernsey win Division Six of the World Cricket League in Malaysia, beating the hosts in the final and gaining promotion to Division Five.
