A Timeline of Oman Cricket

1970s First cricket clubs formed in Oman.
2001 First representative Oman side plays in the Under-17 Asia Cup, winning one of four first round matches.
2002 Oman senior side plays for the first time in the ACC Trophy in Singapore. They beat Qatar in the first round but lose the other three matches.
2003 Oman Under-19s play in Youth Asia Cup, beating Hong Kong and Thailand in the first round.
2004 Oman surprise everyone by reaching the final of the ACC Trophy in Malaysia, where they lose to the UAE.
Oman win the Middle East Cup in Kuwait.
2005 Oman become the first affiliate member to play in the ICC Trophy. They lose all five first round matches, but then beat Uganda, and chase down 345 in the 9th place play-off against the USA after being reduced to 102/5.
2006 Oman fail to go past the first round in the ACC Trophy after losing to Singapore and Bahrain.
2007 Oman share the ACC Twenty20 Cup final with Afghanistan after a tie in the final.
Oman are runners-up to the UAE in Division 2 of the World Cricket League.
2009 Oman win the ACC Trophy Challenge tournament.
