| History | Known as Dewald he moved to Edinburgh with his family in his early teens. A bowler with an easy action which generates unexpected pace, he won caps at Under 23 level out of the Watsonians club, but a move to Heriot's brought him to the attention of the senior selectors and he made an impressive debut against Durham on his birthday in 2004. A lower-order batsman with the ability to move up the order he is an out-fielder with a powerful arm. |
