Cricketing Career

What is your ultimate cricketing aspiration? To take 5 fa against Australia in the World Cup and to hit six 6's in one over (preferably in the same game).

What is your most memorable cricketing moment? Getting Desmond Haynes caught behind when I played against the West Indies in 1993.

What was your worst cricketing moment? I was picked for Queensland under 12's and we toured for two weeks. I cried nearly every night I hated being away from home.

What is your funniest cricketing moment? Anytime Tony Judd was in the Scotland dressing room with Fraser Watts and Gregor Maiden.

Who is your best friend in European Cricket and why? Jeremy Bray. Because he's the most underrated batsman in the world - plus he listens to Slayer and Slipknot.


Scottish Cricket

Paul Hoffman batting, ICC Trophy 2005Who is your favourite Scottish cricketer (past and present), and why? Dougie Lockhart. He loves playing for his country, works harder at his game than anyone and is as loyal and honest as they come.

Which is your favourite Scottish cricket ground, and why? Uddingston. It's been my home ground for ten years and is a pleasure to play on thanks to David Duncan. The outfield is as good as any test ground I've played on.

Who is the best young Scottish cricketer you have seen in recent times? Majid Haq by some distance.

What do you think of overseas professionals in Scottish club cricket? As long as they contribute to the club by way of coaching I don't mind at all.

Do you think bowlers should be restricted in domestic cricket? If I was ten years younger I wouldn't have been happy, but I don't mind at all now. So the answer is yes!

What are your main complaints about Scottish cricket? Rubbish teas at some clubs.

How would you set about improving the standard of Scottish cricket? Ensure a proper coaching set up is implemented and get the right coaches to do the job. Also, get better indoor facilities.

How would you set about making Scottish cricket more popular? Making sure we win, but failing that, get cricket fans like Chris Sutton, Shaun Maloney and Andy Goram to promote cricket to the masses.

Which overseas countries have you played cricket in? Australia, Emirates, Holland, Ireland.

Which was your favourite, and why? Emirates. Hold's fond memories, plus it has great weather and beautiful beaches.

Who is your favourite world cricketer, and why? Chris Gayle for his aggressive batting.

Who is your favourite English cricketer, and why? Don't really have a favourite Pommie cricketer.

Which other sports do you play regularly? Surfing. Channel surfing Sky Sports TV that's about it really!

What are your hobbies? Going down to the golf driving range and smashing 100 balls with my Big Betha, spending time with my girlfriend.
