Jack Russell, Ian Healy (just by watching) and Rene Schoonheim (on his own in Holland)

What is your ultimate cricketing aspiration?
To reach the second round in the CWC 2007.

What is your most memorable cricketing moment?
Being part of Holland's first-ever win in a World Cup match, and CWC 2003 in general.

What was your worst cricketing moment?
Being involved in a domestic cricket chaos concerning run-rate.

What is your funniest cricketing moment?
I like to make some practical jokes on the field; the player involved sometimes does not like it, but afterwards we can see the funny side of it.

Who is your best friend in Dutch Cricket and why?
I do not like to point out one player as my biggest friend. I have and still enjoy my own teammates very much, but also the opposition in Holland is not the worst (after the match).

Who is your favourite Dutch cricketer (past and present), and why?
Difficult one, past; definitely Steven Lubbers (great character and captain, and the first captain who gave me the confidence in the Dutch team) and present: I can`t make a choice, because we have a lot of great Dutch players in the current side. I would say a mix between the fighting spirit of Luuk van Troost, the shot selection of Bas Zuiderent, the class of Tim de Leede, the dedication of Ryan ten Doeschate and the strength of Edgar Schiferli.

Which is your favourite Dutch cricket ground, and why?
Without any doubts, De Diepput of HCC. Great history and beautiful surroundings

Who is the best young Dutch cricketer you have seen in recent times?
Alexei Kervezee

What do you think of overseas professionals in Dutch club cricket?
They make us think more professionally and make the competition stronger. So I am positive.

Do you think bowlers should be restricted in domestic cricket?
We have to follow the international rules, so if we decide to play only one-dayers; yes!

What are your main complaints about Dutch cricket?
We do not have enough turf wickets, play on mainly soccer fields with bad outfields, and there is not enough depth in most teams.

How would you set about improving the standard of Dutch cricket?
Play with fewer (stronger) teams in the Hoofdklasse (maximum 8), play each other twice and finish with a play-off system. There might even be some time left for some two-day cricket!

How would you set about making Dutch cricket more popular?
We just need the media. There is nothing wrong with the game of cricket, only we have to find a way to regain interest of the Dutch TV media.

Which Test team, if any, do you support, and why?
I do not support any particular team, like to see a great contest! England-Australia was great to watch, as India-Pakistan always is!

Which overseas countries have you played cricket in?
New Zealand, Canada, England, Denmark, Scotland, Ireland, Malta, France, Belgium, Germany, South Africa, Dubai, Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe.

Which was your favourite, and why?
South Africa; the CWC 2003 was a great experience.

Who is your favourite world cricketer, and why?
I like to watch the Australians, but Raul Dravid's temperament is from a different planet.
