Garfield Harrison. He was the one who taught me to bowl spin, and has got me to were I am now. I learned a lot being coached by him, and playing alongside him.
What is your ultimate cricketing aspiration?
To win the treble with Waringstown, to play as many times for Ireland as possible, to earn a contract with an English County.
What is your most memorable cricketing moment?
My first cap, even though I didn’t play as well as I could have on the day. Also the Under 19 World Cup in 2004 was a great experience, playing in big Test stadiums in front of huge crowds is something I'll never forget. I’ve also been awarded a contract with the MCC Young Cricketers starting in April, which is fantastic.

It would have to be losing in the 2003 Cup final to North Down.

Who is your best friend in Irish Cricket and why?
Probably Gary Wilson. We have roomed together on most tours we have went on, and managed to put up with each other for a month at the Under 19 World Cup.
Who is your favourite Irish cricketer (past and present), and why?
Past - Garfield Harrison. I don't know how much more he is going to play but on his day he is as good as anybody in all forms of the game. Present - Trent Johnston. The biggest hitter of a cricket ball I have ever witnessed. Also a quality bowler.
Which is your favourite Irish cricket ground, and why?
The Lawn - Waringstown. In my opinion the best facilities in the country. The Green at North Down is also a quality setting.
Who is the best young Irish cricketer you have seen in recent times?
Eoin Morgan. Classy batsman and a more than useful bowler.
Are you in favour of an All Ireland League?
I haven't really been around long enough to comment as I have only been playing senior cricket for a few years, but from the comments I've read I don't think it would be the best option, as there is too much traveling.
What do you think of overseas professionals in Irish club cricket?
Yes. I feel playing against them helps you raise your game. But they should coach younger players.
Do you think bowlers should be restricted in domestic cricket?
Yes, it means that pros won't do the majority of the bowling and will allow the younger bowlers to gain experience. 10 overs is about right.
What are your main complaints about Irish cricket?
I don’t have any real complaints, except for the poor pitches in some places.
How would you set about improving the standard of Irish cricket?
Improving the grounds, pitches and facilities.
How would you set about making Irish cricket more popular?
More television coverage – with the England game and some of the C&G matches on Sky, this will help. An international 20/20 competition would be good. This would draw bigger crowds as it seems to have done in England.
Which Test team, if any, do you support, and why?
I seem to just follow the team that is playing against England for some reason!
