Frederick Klokker has today acheived one of his goals - to play first class cricket for an English County. Before today's game against Sussex at Hove Warwickshire's first keeper Tony Frost failed a fitness test after a bcak strainthereby allowing 23 year old, Danish wicketkeeper, Frederick Klokker to make his first-class debut for the Bears. Warwicks second keeper Tim Ambrose was also out with a back injuryFreddy has been working hard these past two years in getting to play regular first class cricket.

In the last over before lunch Heath Streak claimed his third victim of the morning, caught by Klokker. Freddy continued after lunch in catching two more Sussex men, both off the bowling of Dougie Brown. Sussex were then having problems and were 206 for 7 but the Sussex tale wagged and Wright and Mustaq managed to addruns enough to allow extra batting points when thay were all out out for 302.

That left Warwicks half an hour at the crease and when Westwood fell lbw just after 5 overs it was obvious a nightwatchman would be sent in and who would that be? Of course, Freddy was sent in to face both fast bowling and spin with everyone around the bat. Freddy admitted that he hasn't put much practice in with the bat since last season but trusted his solid defence to get him through. He enjoyed himself even though it was a long day. "It just like a goalkeeper at football" Freddy said "when he hasn't let any goals in" Freddy of course had no byes and only 3 legbyes. So it's early to bed for Freddy, still 3 not out before tomorrow's play.
