This weekend was supposed to be the holdiday weekend for the cricket leagues but KB and Glostrup decided to play their match today at KB's ground in Copenhagen. KB have to share their ground with the football club and that means limited availability for cricket. Not only can they only play on Sundays but the ground itself may have the worse for waer due to the football. Today the ground looked lush with green grass due to heavy watering after over a week of very hot weather. But a closer look revealed that the grass needed cutting and on one side very uneven.

KB batted first and was soon in trouble against the Glostrup bowlers, especially David Borchersen. KB lost their first 4 wickets with only 17 on the board. But then Baljit Singh took over the show and with Hamad Khan (27) put on 70 for the fifth wicket and with Farrukh Shezad (39) 64 for the sixth. By the time Baljit was out he had 61 to his name and KB were all out for 191. David Borchersen ended up taking six KB wickets for just 29 runs.

KB's score of 191 meant anything could happen and KB turned the screw early on with introduction of spin. KB had today the services of offspinner Sagib Tasneem who had stopped last season under the excuse of age. However 35 is no age for a good spinner and he proved that today by holding Glostrup at one end while legspinner Hamad khan took 5 wickets at the other for just 8 runs. Glostrup's David Borchersen turned out to be KB's main threat as he pestered the boundaries but Baljit Singhed crowned his day by taking a breathtaking catch on the boundary to end David's innings at 35. Glostrup were all out for 104 after just 31 overs.

Glostrup's loss means that at the halfway stage Husum are out in front. Husum have now a chance to win the championsip for the very first time. A few years ago the Danish Sports Association changed it's laws giving clubs like Husum that are Danish in spirit but situated in Germany the possibility of winning a Danish Championship. So the dream of founder Henry Buhl might yet come true.
