The board of the Dutch governing body (KNCB) has referred the abandonment of last Saturday’s Hoofdklasse match between VOC Rotterdam and HBS Den Haag to its disciplinary committee.

The committee, which will deal with the case on Thursday, will consider a report that HBS was responsible for the game being called off. Should that be adjudged to be the case, the competition rules would provide for the match being awarded to VOC.

But the KNCB’s announcement of the referral leaves open the possibility that, depending on the committee’s findings, the fixture could be replayed.
