The weekend's full program of matches didn't decide the championship but did clarify a few issues. With two more defeats this weekend the bottom side Aalborg have been relegated to the first division next year. Husum lost their final chance of reaching first place by losing to Glostrup who with two victories have a firm grip on the title. Their rivals Svanholm however saw their match against KB washed away in a storm. It is yet unclear when this match will be replayed if at all.
In the first division Herning won a clifhanger of a victory over rivals AB and will most certain take first spot and promotion to the Elitedivision. Losers AB will now have to play a qualification match against seventh place in the Elitedivision, an issue still yet undecided.
Saturday Glostrup visited Esbjerg who are fighting to avoid seventh place. Glostrup again had the services of David Borchersen who injured his knee earlier in the ECC Championships in Scotland and he made a decent score of 33 not out in Glostrups 145 for 5 chasing a target score of 142. Esbjerg had earlier made 150 and again it was Esbjerg's experienced captain Peer Jensen holding things together with 40.
Glostrup continued thier trip in Jutland by playing Husum on the Sunday. Husum had to win to keep their Championships chances alive and this wasn't impossible after Husum scored 183 for 9 in their 50 overs with Gerrit Müller topscoring with 37. However Anders Rasmussen was in form and he plundered the Husum bowling for 83 in 83 balls supported by Niel Schittler's 56. Anders said "Husum bowled a bit short and wide" Husum will have to concentrate to keeping the bronze medals.
KB are in with a chance for third place and Sunday they had Svanholm visiting. Svanholm batted first and Mickey Lund dug himself in scoring 27 off 75 balls. Svanholm were hampered on their batting as Soren Vestergaard was ill and Mohammed Siddiq injured. Svanholm were perhaps happy with their 147. KB thought they had a chance but they lost two quick wickets before the heavnes opened and drowned KB's ground that was soft anyway cancelling out any firther play.
Norrebro, the Pakistani side from Copenhagen were in Jutland this weekend. On the Saturday they mangaed an easy victory over doomed Aalborg while on the Sunday they faced Skanderborg who like Norrebro are trying to avoid seventh place. Skanderborg won an important toss on a very long and wet outfield. This advantege with a wet ball gave Skanderborg the chance to muster a large score of 247 thanks mainly to Rizwan Mahmoods 89. With two breaks for rain Norrebro didn't grasp the importance of keeping the scoring rate up and when rain finally put an end to the preceedings they were too far behind losing by 39 runs.
The big match of the day was in the first division where Herning visited AB. Both teams have been running neck and neck at the top of the division and today's winner would most certainly take top spot giving direct promotion. The match however couldn't start on time as AB's pitch hadn't been covered during the night as it should making it unplyable. The match was switched to Svanholm Park and a reduced 40 over match could begin. Herning betted first and in form Troels Thogersen smashed 88 not out in the first 33 overs supported by Mogens Christensen
in an opening stand of over 100. But then the heavens opened and the rain came down in buckets. Svanholms ground could take though so play could resume later in the afternoon. AB were given a target of 132 off 23 overs. AB is a side of big-hitters with the exception of Thomas Louie who held the innings together at the one end. However he began to run out of partners and stood in the last over with two balls to go needing 5 runs to win with one wicket to fall. Knowing he needed a boundary off the penultimate ball he went for his shot but only got a single. Bowler Jacob Larsen kept his line and length and bowled the last man off the last ball securing Herning promotion if they win thier final match.
