My parents with under rated support and encouragement.
What is your ultimate cricketing aspiration?
To win the world cup 3 times in a row and keep the trophy!
What is your most memorable cricketing moment?
The first month playing in the NCL were we beat Durham at the riverside, Lancashire at Old Trafford and Somerset at the Grange in the most amazing game I have ever played.
What was your worst cricketing moment?
Losing to Namibia in the 2001 ICC Trophy in Canada where we managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This consigned us to miss out on the 2003 World Cup. I still have nightmares.
What is your funniest cricketing moment?
Any time Tony Judd constructs a poem.
Who is your best friend in Scottish Cricket and why?
One of my oldest friends and team mates who is now my business partner as well - Neil Macrae.
Who is your favourite Scottish cricketer (past and present), and why?
At his best Mike Smith was a joy to watch and play cricket with.
Which is your favourite Scottish cricket ground, and why?
Aberdeenshire’s Mannofield ground because I do not require to travel far to get home and it holds many great memories.
Who is the best young Scottish cricketer you have seen in recent times?
There are half a dozen, at least, who have l have seen lately that have looked the business, but I will not jinx them by naming them here, because it does not prove anything.
What do you think of overseas professionals in Scottish club cricket?
I positively hate hired assassins. If they are not predominantly a coach, or into development, then they should not be in the job. It is short sighted and down right stupid throwing good money after bad employing such a person.
Do you think bowlers should be restricted in domestic cricket?
Yes.
What are your main complaints about Scottish cricket?
Overseas players being employed as a player first, coach second. Indoor and outdoor facilities could do with some major investment.
How would you set about improving the standard of Scottish cricket?
Set about rectifying my complaints and making sure the best young players are constantly challenged at higher levels.
How would you set about making Scottish cricket more popular?
I think Cricket Scotland and their sponsors are on the right track at the moment. Winning the world Cup would help! and maybe involving some high profile celebrities who enjoy the sport.
Which Test team, if any, do you support, and why?
Strangely, England - but I have an affinity towards Australia having spent a fair bit of time there.
Which overseas countries have you played cricket in?
Australia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Canada, UAE, Ireland and Holland.
Which was your favourite, and why?
Australia, I had 6 great seasons there and would recommend it to anyone for its climate, lifestyle and wonderful people.
Who is your favourite world cricketer, and why?
Rahul Dravid is a great bloke and a great player, he also thinks the Katchet is great to. What more can I say, the man is a genius.
Who is your favourite English cricketer, and why?
Fraser Watts, because he plays on the north side of Hadrians Wall!

If only there was time.
What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my family and I like an excursion to the gym from time to time.

Currently like Coldplay but Hoffy runs them close on his air guitar!
