Who had the greatest influence on your career?
Hendo (Mike Hendrick), I looked up to guys like Matt Dwyer, Mark Clinton and Michael Murphy and The Family.

What is your ultimate cricketing aspiration?
World Cup 2007.

What is your most memorable cricketing moment?
Intercontinental Cup, I will never forget it. Could not play in the final but I had goose pimples just watching on the final morning. It was so exciting watching wicket after wicket fall when realistically going into that last day the odds where stacked against us. Playing with SR Waugh. To finally win the Euros this year.

What was your worst cricketing moment?
Any defeat in big games.

What is your funniest cricketing moment?
Rose Bowl 2001 with Conor Armstrong and a bottle of sun cream in the middle of September. Peter Gillespie in Scotland 2000. I can't say anymore. Most games with the gallians.

Eceryone on my team.

Who is your favourite Irish cricketer (past and present), and why?
Enjoyed Angus Dunlop in my early days he was in his prime then and made batting look easy at times. Currently, Owen Morgan love watching him bat.

Which is your favourite Irish cricket ground, and why?
The Inch is a great place to play cricket. I also enjoy playing at The Vineyard where I played for 5 years and Rush is good too. Donemana for raw passion. .

Who is the best young Irish cricketer you have seen in recent times?
Young McDonnell from Pembroke looks like he has a lot of time when batting. Kiwi is a promising bowler from Merrion.

What do you think of overseas professionals in Irish club cricket?
Excellent but I wish the LCU would sort the rules out - I get confused every year.

Do you think bowlers should be restricted in domestic cricket?
Absolutely - my body is testament to that come August every year.

What are your main complaints about Irish cricket?
No comment.

How would you set about improving the standard of Irish cricket?
1. More and better coaches who can improve and work with our top players at both Senior level and in all underage teams on a twelve month basis.
2. Wickets have to improve we will never consistently produce top batsmen on our wickets and why would anyone want to try and bowl quick on some of the wickets we have to play on.
3. Our top players must be on contracts so they can practice more often and be professionally prepared for all games.

How would you set about making Irish cricket more popular?
Games like the ODI against England did wonders we need to try and get 2/3 games like this a season.

Which Test team, if any, do you support, and why?
The Aussies. They are always looking at improving the standards and coming up with new innovations.

Which overseas countries have you played cricket in?
England, Scotland, Holland, South Africa, Namibia, New Zealand, Canada.

Could not pick one - all good in their own way.

Steve Waugh by a mile. His attitude mental strength and desire to be as good as he possibly could.

Ed Joyce. He’s Irish.
