The Danish Cricket Association (DCF) have a new chairman after yesterdays AGM as CBS Hansen had decided to step down after 4 periods as chairman. This he had declared about a year ago before the current crisis situation in the DCF had arisen. Vice chairman Thomas Kentorp was elected as new chairman without any opposition. Despite having sending out the accounts showing a deficit of over 1 mio Dkr. and obliterating the association's net capital, only 13 active clubs turned up to the meeting held at Svanholm CC in Copenhagen. Several clubs from Jutland were not to be seen.

The departing chairman CBS Hansen in his address concentrated on the events leading up to the present situation where the till is empty. The Associaition have been able to continue thanks to help from the main body of the Danish Sports Association. The situation has arisen mainly from employing the wrong man for managing the association on a daily basis and the chaos afterwards when he left at the beginning of last season.

The new chairman Thomas Kentorp concentrated on the future and he presented a new tough budget and budget control to make sure that the DCF end this coming year in the black. A heavy burden lays ahead as the board face the task of finding news ways of attracting funding to the game. As new Vice Chairman, Ole Mortensen was elected without opposition and Soren Henriksen, a former Danish captain was elected to the board. Umair Butt has taken over the difficult job as financial officer.

The AGM was not all bad news. The DCF looked back on a year full of activities including winning the ECC Indoor Championship yet again. And the the Danish Cup was up for for discussion as the board had proposed changing it to a 20/20 format. However most of the clubs present decided on preserving the current Cup but using a total knock out version and having a new 20/20 competition during the summer. This will be now looked upon.
