Last weekend newly promoted AB surprised the cricketing community by defeating Husum despite a century from Hauke Müller. This weekend AB came up against KB, the side one's still expecting to develope into a threat to take the Championship, but in fact it turned out to be AB who have developed. In today's match AB proved that they could bat with responsibility and shook off the label of "crash bang" cricket they got last year.

Today's match was hampered by the fact that KB's wicket had not been covered during the night as it usually is. As it had rained this made the decision to play difficult but as both sides had no complaints, the game got under way. The rain made the pitch soft with a very low bounce, which gave several more lbw than usual. However the condtions were the same for both sides.

AB batted first and were helped from the start by the conditions as the extras started to tic. KB ended up giving away 56 extras and of these 40 wides as the conditions were against the bowlers. AB's Khuram Khawaja was the stalwart of the innings holding things together with his 47 not out while wickets dell at the other end. AB were all out for 183 with KB's Farooq Mahmood taking 3 for 28. When KB came to bat they ran into trouble from the word go as AB's Asim Haider bowled his inswingers that KB were unable to cope with. When Asim had bowled his 10 overs the score was 22 for 7 with Asim taking 6 for 16. The damage was done and even though Farouq Shezad (31) and Rizwan Tabassum (25) stuck around for a while KB could not repair the damage and were all out for 85. With this victory AB join Glostrup and Svanholm as the undefeated. This results once again shows that this years title is wide open.

Further south in Copenhagen Norrebro played against Esbjerg, who lost yesterday to Svanholm. Esbjerg have found out that their "kick and rush" game used in the first 2 matches have failed and therefore today tried a more conventional approach to batting. However their 161 was still not enough to win the match as Norrebro posted 186 without Aftab Ahmed in the side, . Faisal Saddique was the star of the show scoring 51 and taking 4 for 25.

In the 1. division Skanderborg faced Svanholm II. Skanderborg's side is now a mixture of young and old but also have 3 ex-Nykobing Mors players. The same thing goes for Svanholm but as a second team lacked depth in the bowling and this showed in todays game. Chasing Svanholm's 135 Skanderborg were under pressure in the opening overs but pressure was released after the first bowling change and Skanderborg won by six wickets. Former Danish all rounder Morten Hedegaard scored 54 and took 5 for 10 !

AB's good fortune continued as their second team AB II won over Koge by 2 wickets in a low scoring game.
