If this match had been played over a thousand years ago then Solvang's Park would have been strewn with bodies and various cut off limbs as this cricket match was fought with the tension a top clash would be expected of. Svanholm and Glostrup were up to this match both unbeaten and the expectations were that this would be a close affair. Glostrup's ground inside the picturesque park in the suburb of Copenhagen was heavy and slow after a lot of rain and as the grass had not been cut on the Friday for an unknown reason then runs would be hard to come by. Glostrup's artificial pitch turned out also to be slow and hard to play on. So it was a day for the bowlers and the best technical batsmen.

Svanholm put Glostrup in to bat knowing that Glostrup's batting is their weak point. Glostrup got off to a brisk start with David Borchersen and Anders Rasmussen (both of Denmark) scoring freely against Thomas Hansen and Zishan Shah. But David picked the wrong ball from Zishan and was bowled. He was followed quickly after by Anders and Aftab Ahmed and it was left to Peter Poulsen and Rasmus Kofoed to rebuild the innings. Theses two were soon in command with Poulsen leading the way. They put on 60 before Poulsen slipped going for a second run and was run out. Glostrup were now 115 for 5 and the lower middle order just simply collapsed to the spin of Shaun Gannon and Glostrup were in the 44th over all out for 128. On a normal quick pitch this would be double so Svanholm had a job on their hands.

Svanholm didn't get off to a good start as Mickey Lund was soon bamboozled by David Borchersen soon followed by Shaun Gannon who hooked a short ball from Henrik Hansen straight to square-leg. By now Glostrup introduced their player/coach Ole "Stan" Mortensen. The old war horse can still bowl a mean and accurate ball and on this pitch he pinned down the one end. Zishan Shah tried to force the pace but Ole bypassed him and hit the wicket. Ole then removed Max Overgaard and Jim Moniz in the same over and Svanholm were in deep trouble at 57 for 5.

But captain Thomas Hansen and Thomas Vestergaard saw Ole off and began to rebuild the innings pushing the singles and the odd two. Glostrup were forced to use Peter Poulsen as their 5th bowler as spinner Anders Rasmussen couldn't bowl. This in a way took off a bit of the pressure but Svanholm were behind the run rate. At 115 for 5 Thomas Hansen was finally caught behind leaving Svanholm to get 14 off 4 overs. But the going was tough - Glostrup missed one chance and Vestergaard was close to being run out. With the final over Svanholm need 3 to win. Rohit Kinayaia took a single off the first ball and it was left to Vestergaard to score the winning hit off a short ball from David Borchersen.

Svanholm are now still undefeated and alone at the top followed by Glostrup and Herning. These two sides meet again in the last round in September and hopefully we get a repeat performance.

Elsewhere AB looked an easy winner against Norrebro after removing seven batsmen for 118 chasing AB's score of 228 but Norrebro rallied behind Jaffar Butt 36* and Sharzad Bhatti 20 who got Norrebro within 7 runs before the last wicket fell off the very last ball. AB's innings was dominated by Khuram Khawaja who scored his first century in the Elitedivision well supported by under-19 Tasif khan, 42. In the first division Ishoj made 238 for 8 of which Zeshan Elahi made 102 against KB who were bowled out for 108. Koge's match against Svanholm's seconds was postponed due to illness amongst several Koge's players.
