In damp and overcast conditions the Danish Cup Final was played in Jutland at Hernings smallish ground. Smallish as described by batsmen as the final saw 22 sixes being hit in a 40 overs match where over 450 runs were scored and this in a playing form without fielding restrictions. The many spectators who made their way here certainly got value for their trip money as far as entertainment. This was one of the better finals as neither side dominated.

Herning won the toss and decided to bat in the damp conditions which meant Glostrup had to contend with a wet ball that swelled up making bowling not that easy. However conditions didn't improve that much for when Herning fielded. Although Carsten Pedersen the day before scored 40 for Denmark against Bermuda today he came back to earth being bowled on the third ball of the match. He claimed afterwards that his front foot slipped going forward. This quick loss didn't deter Herning as Troels Thogersen took about attacking the Glostrup bowlers especially Ole Mortensen smashing 6 sixes in his quickfire innings of 87 off 56 balls. He was well supported by Thony Hadersland as they put on 127 for the second wicket. Herning did loose a few wickets regularly but the scoring rate was kept up. Captain Peer Jensen demonstrated he was still an old fox as he used the inverted sweep to keep the runs flowing with Kent Jensen smashing the odd six. Glostrup, though, broke through and Henrik Hansen mopped up the tail taking four wickets but Herning landed on 230 all out in the last over.

Glostrup knew what they had to do and set about it in the same way. Anders Rasmussen spearheaded the attack as he smashed the ball around the park hitting 4 sixes in his 62 of 54 balls. However wickets fell at the other end until Peter Poulsen came in and chipped in with a few boundaries with his 44. Glostrup were 167 for 7 and were about to be written off but Henrik Hansen and Michael Jeppesen took the bull by the horns and landed Glostrup within 10 runs before the very last over. Both got out going for the big one. It was left to Ole Mortensen and Rasmus Nielsen to rescue the team. Rasmus hit a four and a two besides singles in the last over and had to score 3 off the last ball to win. But his final shot wasn't far enough and he was run out going for the second run as Glostrup lost by one run.
