Ireland opener William Porterfield tonight confirmed that he has been offered a two year deal with English county side Gloucestershire.
The left hander has been on trial at the county between his Ireland commitments this season, and has obviously impressed the coaching staff at the West country club.
"I'm delighted to have secured this contract. It's no secret that this has been my ambition, and it's a dream come true to have finally achieved it."
Porterfield became the first Irish player to score 1000 runs in a calendar year when he scored a Man of the Match 166 during the Intercontinental Cup win over Bermuda last week.
The former Donemana player is a product of the much vaunted Irish youth system, having skippered Ireland at all levels from Under 13 right through to Ireland 'A'.
