Last week both Glostrup and Svanholm won large victories as the climax between the two is growing towards the final meeting. However this weekend Svanholm nearly threw it all away in the same manner as Glostrup did last year as Svanholm made it very hard going facing KB who are fighting like mad to avoid the drop to the 1st. division. Glostrup had an easier match beating Norrebro without much ado as the Glostrup bowling attack is the strongest at the moment.

KB's and Svanholm's match got off to a bad start as the umpires decided the weather forecast was bad enough to reduce the match to 40 overs. Both captain's disputed this but it proved that they haven't read the rules for years. KB had again got the services of Denmark's Baljit Singh and that made a difference as Svanholm couldn't get him out as he made 75 of KB's 142 for 8. Zishan Shah made a name for himself taking 5 for 8 in eight overs. Svanholm are hampered as they don't have Thomas Hansen who is out with meniscus problems and will also probably miss the last key match. Svanholm made a hard job of making the runs as they only had Rohit Kanaya to thank as he picked off the last 8 runs in the 39th over.

While the umpires shortened the match in Copenhagen the same thing didn't happen in Herning where the weather turned out to be worse. Herning's innings was terminated after only 25 overs with 94 on the board. The rain continued but finally Husum was given a golden opportunity to score the runs in 25 overs late and they did although the light was very questionable. Husum's surprise victory over Herning has given them a life line before the final weekend. Husum and KB can both avoid the certain drop to the 1st division depending on the results. KB will ahve to depend on Esbjerg beating Husum if they are to avoid last place. The second last team will then have to have a play-off against no. 2 in the 1st. division which will be Albertslund.

Esbjerg had good day against AB who have completely lost their momentum during the latter part of the season and have almost secured their existence in the Elitedivision for next year. Only if Husum beat Esbjerg by a very large margin and KB lose can they end up in second last place. AB lost their second match of the weekend as they lost to Norrebro who are now also safe from any relegation.

So on Sunday Svanholm face Glostrup where Glostrup have to win if they are to have any chance of winning the Championship that they threw away last year. Husum and KB will fight to avoid the last place in the division in the two matches while Herning and AB have nothing at stake to play for.

Skanderborg made sure of their return to the Elitedivision by absolutely smashing Koge by over 200 runs in a complete mismatch. Albertslund are certain of 2nd place and a play off while Fredericia and KB II are already relegated.
