An under strength and under the weather CYM team won the toss and decided to bat on a very dry Mardyke track. Scoring was slow and wickets were frequent as Morne Bauer and Shaffique Ur-Rehman kept it tight and aggressive.

The introduction of skipper Wilf Bracegirdle and Steve Hickey saw things get more difficult still for CYM and Hickey finished with 4-16 off his ten. He was backed up by 3/18 off 9.4 from Bracegirdle and 1/2 off 4 from
Williamson. The only batsman of note was Taz Satti who scored 42. He was assisted by 21 extras.

In reply Ted Williamson set off at a good pace with the stated intention of chasing the target down quickly. Runs were scored freely with only Taz Satti causing the batsmen any great difficulty. He finished with 2/31 off 10 overs and Ted Williamson finished with 62*.

A convincing victory for the Munster men.
