Cricket Kenya (“CK”) is seeking a National Coach to drive forward the Kenya National Team’s preparation for the 2009 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Kenya is today perceived, in many quarters, to be the best team outside the Test arena. It has appeared in the last four ICC Cricket World Cups. Nowhere was Kenya’s ability and potential made more apparent than in the 2003 Cricket World Cup when Kenya defeated Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh on their way to the semi-finals of that tournament. Kenya has, most recently in January 2007, won the ICC World Cricket League Division 1 to ensure its top ranking amongst Associates and its qualification for the Twenty20 ICC World Championship in September 2007.

A high quality coach is sought to ensure progression of the team up to and beyond the World Cup. A program of international fixtures is in place including the ICC Intercontinental Cup (First Class), ICC World Cricket League, ICC regional events, and ODIs against Full and Associate ICC member countries outside of ICC feature tournaments.

Candidates should have a proven record of coaching success, a minimum of an ECB Level 3 award or equivalent and sound experience of coaching players at a professional level.

The appointment is initially for a fixed term period up to 30 June 2009 and is open to review thereafter.
