Ruaraka A finished comfortable winners in Division 1 of the NPCA competition when they wrapped up an unbeaten season last weekend with a nine wicket win over bottom placed SCLYL. Ruaraka dominated the division from start to finish and have made a convincing argument to be promoted to the Super division next season. Even should second placed Kanbis B take full points in their final match, Ruaraka will still end the season more than 30 points clear.
Second place in the group goes to Kanbis B, while Swamibapa B will finish third. Both have a game in hand, against Ngara and SCLYL respectively, but the points are such that these will be immaterial in terms of the final standings. Kongonis A, who dropped down to the division after losing several of their key players to Swamibapa at the beginning of the season finish fourth and will take heart at the performance of their new crop of players coming through.
Premier Club edge out Simba Union A by 1 point to take 5th, while Ngara and SCLYL bring up the bottom of the table. With a very tight finish at the top of Division II, both teams may well find themselves making way for promoted teams next season, but the fact that one team can move up to the Premier division without a team coming down may rescue Ngara.
