Sunday saw the Danish touring side take on a representative XI from Mombasa at the Mombasa Sport Clubs ground that for the Danes at least was hard and fast. The Africans won the toss and batted, finding the going hard with accurate bowling from Thomas Hansen and David Borchersen. Thomas Hnasen had an early succes trapping Faizal lbw while Henrik Hansen who came on took the second wicket when the score was 40. Denmark's captain Frederik Klokker changed his bowlers round constantly and it was Morten Hedegaard who's is back in team after a lengthy break who took the Kenyan third wicket while Henrik Hansen took his second having the Mombasa XI in trouble at 55 for 4. From here on the wickets fell regularly but it was left arm spinner Bashir Shah who cashed in at the end taking 3 wickets for just 6 runs. Mombasa XI were skittled out for 104 including two run outs

Victory for Denmark was never in doubt with Carsten Pedersen playing a solid innings of 42 not out while wickets were lost at the other end. Frederick Klokker playing on (20) quickly followed by Michael Pedersen and Max Overgaard. Lars Hedegaard looked like staying on to the end but he was caught at cover so it was left to his brother Morten to support Carsten to the winning hit. Denmark won the match by 6 wickets. A satisfactory game considering the team had only arrived 24 hours before.

Tomorrow lies a day of practice before the next match on Tuesday against a Nairobi XI and the two matches against Kenya A.
