Denmark won their second match against a Nairobi side including veteran Krizian Patel by 87 runs with Denmark batting first after winning the toss. Denmark got off to an excellent start led by captain Frederick Klokker and "old-timer" Mickey Lund who put on 120 for the first wicket before Mickey was bowled for 57. Frederick continued to build on the innings well supported by an aggressive David Borchersen (26), Zishan Shah and Max Overgaard. With 10 overs left the Danes were 200 for 3 and Frederick Klokker soon completed his fourth century for his country, but he was out going for the runs for 129 with four overs to go. But Michael Pedersen (19) and Lars Hedegaard (24*) ended the innings with some hard hitting and the Danes ended on 298 for 6 after the 50 overs.
Morten Hedegaard continued his great come back by bowling one of the Kenyan openers in his first over followed up later with 2 more wickets so his figures ended on 3 for 22. Thomas Hansen opened from the other end containing the batsmen. The Danish pacemen including Lars Hedegaard and Zishan Shah bowled well containing the run rate to about four but taking wickets. After 30 overs the Nairobi side were 120 for 5. Denmark's spinners Bashir Shah and Anders Rasmussen were brought into play keeping the Kenyans under tabs and restricting them to 165 for 6 after 40 overs. Bashir Shah especially making a mark as he took fours wickets towards the end bowling the Kenyans out for 211.
This was an encouraging exhibition from the Danish side who will play this side again on Thursday before the important games at the weekend against the Kenya A side.
