Reports in the Standard newspaper indicate that middle order batsman Collins Obuya has landed a professional contract with Queensland club Caboolture. While details of the contract are not available, Obuya is believed to have joined the club for the rest of the 2007/08 season.

Elder brother Kennedy, who also plays for the club has had mixed results from the season so far after getting off to a flyer with a century in his first innings. He has not yet reached 50 in his other 5 innings, but has got starts on two occasions (44 & 33). He also plays an active part in coaching and development for the club and this is an area where Collins may well assist as well as strengthening the batting line up.

Cricket Kenya are aware of the player's movements and have granted permission for him to ply his trade overseas. It is not yet clear if he will be released for international duty and if so who will foot the bill. In the past, Cricket Kenya has required players to pay their own airfares to return to training camp in Nairobi, but with the new sponsorship deals, this may have changed.

Further details will be released as they become available.
