We arrived in Mumbai at 3.15 am local time after almost 15 hours of travelling. Myself and Adrian were on the same flight. Ben, Theo and Graham were on a different flight but we arrived at roughly the same time.

Mully is 24 hours behind us as he had to sit an exam, so I expect to be woken up at by him at about 4 this morning! We were met at the airport by Brian and a representative from the Global Cricket School, the airport was packed full of people and definitely the noisest airport I have ever been to. The journey to our accommodation wasn't long, but was long enough to notice how crazy the Indian drivers are.

Our accommodation is unspectacular but adequate; myself, Adrian and Conor will share a room and the other lads are in the next room. This morning, after 4 hours sleep, we made our way to the CCI for breakfast. This ground hosted the Champions Trophy final not long ago and is quite exclusive. After breakfast Brian briefed us on what to expect over the next 10 days.

5 Somerset players will be joining us tomorrow (Blackwell, Kieswetter, Phillips, Buttler, Trego) as would Vikram Banjaree from Gloucestershire and a young spin bowler from Middesex. We will train every day from 10 until 12.30, break for an hour and train until 4.

This morning we all had a long bat, it is fair to say that the lads who had been training with the Under 19's looked much better then those of us who had not had any cricket since late September. We also practiced some unusual batting drills, the object of which were to play the ball as late as possible. The local bowlers are very skilled and range in age from 15- 19.

In the afternoon I had a chance to work with a bowling coach on my bowling action for over an hour. Some of us did fielding practice while others chose to stay in the nets a little bit longer. While we practiced local coaches took photos on digital cameras which will be analysed later this week.

Till next time - John Pryor.
