On Friday both teams left early to go and train at the training ground at St.Georges Park the home of Eastern Province. After a sweltering hot training session at the brilliant facilities we had a look round the fantastic stadium. Then we returned to Brandwag for lunch, where we were greeted by a steaming lasagne.

The afternoon saw the 15s undertake some fielding and then encounter the most brutal of catching drills the 15s have ever seen. During this period the 2Os enjoyed a long net session.

That evening we were introduced to a new form of the game known as action cricket. This consists of a non stop format in a small area enclosed by springy nets. The under 2Os Surridge Snakes came out on top while the two under 15 teams battled it out in a close contest.

The 2Os were gladly woken up by The Ron Dog (manager Ron Fleming) at 5.45 for a fitness session starting at six. The 15s arrived at the township Motherwell for their first game of the tour. Captain Peter Legget won the toss and chose to bat. A solid opening opening partnership from Legget and Cross safely reached 5O for no wicket. However a collapse followed and we ended up being skittled for 146. We still had a bit of time before lunch and a good chance to get some early wickets.

Unfortunately the wickets didn't come but we did bowl very tightly. Refreshed from lunch we came out firing but things didn't go our way. Their opening batsman hit a sublime 5O and they secured the win two wickets down with 10 overs to spare.

Both teams had the evening off in preparation for the U20 game against the Ngam Academy and the U15s for our early morning fitness session!
