The Dutch under-15 side suffered another loss in Trinidad on Tuesday, but registered an improved performance against a local Powergen XI.
The home side batted first and reached 197 for nine in their 40 overs. Sebastiaan Braat with three for 26 and Koen Brouwer with three for 18 were the most successful of the bowlers, with a wicket each for Paul van Meekeren, Nico Benoist and James Gruijters.
Braat also starred with the bat, making 53 as the Netherlands replied with 164 for nine. Gruijters contributed 27, while the tail again wagged with an unbroken last-wicket stand between Werner Erkelens and Brouwer, each of who made 12 not out.
The squad is again practising at Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday, and will have a break on Thursday before flying on to Guyana for the round-robin phase of the tournament.
