The Belfast squad has been chosen for this year’s qualifying round matches in The Lord's Taverners' Inner Cities Under 14 Cricket Cup sponsored by Ford Motor Company. Belfast have previously won the tournament on three occasions, the most recent being in 2005. They will again this year play two qualifying round matches, at home to Glasgow at Carrickfergus CC on Thursday 19 June, then away to Edinburgh at Watsonians CC on Tuesday 24 June. The group winners qualify to join seven other UK cities in the tournament proper, which as usual takes place at Arundel in West Sussex, from 11-14 August. The side will be captained by North Down allrounder Scott Irvine, who was also a member of last year's squad.
The 13 man Belfast squad is:
Scott Irvine (North Down; captain)
Mark Berry (Lisburn)
Nathan Burns (Ards)
Ben Carr (Holywood)
