RBAI reached their third successive Ulster Bank Schools’ Cup final when they beat Foyle & Londonderry College in the semi-final replay at Osborne Park after the teams had tied last week in the North West on 262-8.
RBAI amassed 276 for 4 thanks to 159 from James Shannon (right) with support from Mike Irwin and Ross Martin. In reply Andrew Semple was the only Foyle & Londonderry batsmen to make a significant contribution as they were all out for 159. All the Foyle & Londonderry College wickets were taken by spinners with the left armers Ben Wylie with 5 for 34 and Rory McRory 2 for 2 taking seven of those to fall whilst the right arm off spin of James Shannon with 3 for 30 accounted for the remainder.
RBAI beat Regent House in 2006 and Belfast HS last year and now play Bangor GS in Thursday's final at Muckamore CC with an early afternoon start.
