Section 2:1

Ballymena vs Waringstown – The return of the match that saw A Waite and G Fisher both score tons but Waringstown coming out 30 odd run winners in 500. If Cousins and Waite can keep the form that has seen them score heavily all season, then it will require more than one of the Ballymena line up to contribute, Colgan or Williams perhaps.  Waringstown win.

CIYMS vs Bangor – CI holding their own in 2:1 with 3 wins so far, but Bangor will always pose a threat. If McCusker keeps up his run scoring efforts they may be in with a shout. CI will keep on fighting. Close call.  Bangor win

Derriaghy vs Lurgan – Derriaghy are an experienced outfit with many ex-1st eleven players shoring up a few youngsters. This makes them difficult to beat and Jake Torrens and Marty Fell amongst others are great competitors. Lurgan top the table however and seem able to draw on some experience of their own. If they can get Ross McCollum and Neil Hinds out often they will be tough to beat.  Lurgan win.

Lisburn vs Instonians – Clash of the bottom two at Wallace Park. Lisburn will improve throughout the year and so will Instonians as school games end. I still see a home victory coming off if the likes of Ricky Finlay and D McDowell perform with bat and ball. McDonnell and Dawson putting a big number on the board will be Inst’s route to success.  Lisburn win

Woodvale vs North Down – The ever combative Vale men find themselves next to North Down on the league, however sadly for them this year North Down are not the force they have been. With 1st players leaving the gaps have had to be filled from below and Joe Montgomery playing on the firsts deprives them of a guaranteed 500 runs minimum a season. However, this state of affairs should not continue for long. If Rutherford or Scott can score heavily, it will put pressure on the North Down team.  Woodvale win

Section 2:2

Armagh vs Downpatrick – very tight to call with both sides on equal records. Downpatrick’s form has been patchy away from home and Armagh will be stinging from loss in cup.  Armagh win

Holywood vs Carrickfergus – Holywood at home should be enough for Carrick side, but Carrick have shown through players like Hamilton and Livingston that they have real backbone. In the end though, a superior bowling line up for Holywood could be the deciding factor.  Holywood win.

Cliftonville vs Muckamore – Cliftonville did win at Moylena but with help of non starred Neil Cahill. Without him they don’t have the batting to see off in form Muckmore. If Van der Merwe gets in, game over.  Muckamore win

CSNI vs Cooke Collegians – Match in doubt due to Police’s equipment all over Stormont ground. Not PSNI but Sting and his mates. If it goes ahead, CSNI will fancy taking the scalp of out of form Cooke Collegians. A home win if played.  CSNI win

Larne vs Laurelvale – Larne fresh from a tight victory in the Intermediate cup will return home with a real taste for this match. Laurelvale will not relish this away fixture and will struggle.  Larne win.

Section 2:3

(Mid Week) - Portadown vs Victoria – home win, but only just.  - Ports win

Ards vs Dunmurry – Unbeaten Ards to see of ‘Murry men.  - Ards win

Dungannon vs Dundrum – Away win for Drummers, better league form over basement side.  - 'drum win

Portadown vs Donacloney – Hard to call with both sides yet to win this year. Home team to build on midweek success.  - Ports win

Victoria vs Donaghadee  - No 1st match for Victoria may sway result. Both teams identical records, so small factors may mean success.  - Victoria win
