Not a nation you would normally associate with cricket, however cricket is on the rise so where better for us to go to promote the game.

Following on from our successful tour to Monaco last year, Thompson Dawson will lead us into Europe again, this time to play against a Hungarian select XI this coming Saturday.  On the Sunday we have entered two teams into a 7 a side competition making full use of our 15 man squad.  Not sure who the water boy will be on Sunday!

Cricket in Hungary is on the rise but as is usually the case, they suffer from a lack of financial support, though through no lack of effort and endeavour as can be seen by their excellent website www.hungary4cricket.com  Our hosts merely ask each touring team to bring along any old pads, gloves and bats that we no longer need.

So on Friday afternoon we leave from Dublin airport to take on a Hungarian Select XI, to spread the good name of Irish Cricket and to sample the delights that Budapest has to offer.  Watch this space for our end of tour report!
