Belfast Under 14's have qualified for the national finals of the Lord's Taverners' Ford Inner Cities Cricket Cup for the eighth successive year. Two very comfortable victories over Glasgow and Edinburgh in preliminary round matches, in which they lost only three wickets, saw Belfast through to compete with seven other major UK cities at Arundel in West Sussex from 11-14 August.

Glasgow were asked to bat first and were restricted to 113 for 6 in a match reduced to 25 overs because of the weather. Belfast in reply lost 2 early wickets, but a third wicket partnership of 71 runs between Ards opener Nathan Burns, who completed an excellent fifty, and Carrick's Jordan McClurkin saw their side home with nearly 10 overs to spare.
Glasgow 113 for 6 (25 overs; D Chaudry 25, M English 24)
Belfast 114 for 2 (15.1 overs; Nathan Burns 53*, Jordan McClurkin 31*)
