Poloc's Saleem Sajjad is at the centre of a new disciplinary row following a shameful outburst in his side's defeat at Carlton on Saturday.
The burly batsman, suspended for eight games two seasons ago for manhandling an umpire, reacted with fury when he was given out lbw as Poloc chased the home team's 200-8 in a rain-affected clash at Grange Loan.
Sajjad was seen to throw his bat to the ground and toss away his gloves in disgust before allegedly swearing at both umpires Les Redford and Alex Dowdalls, calling them "old fat b*******".
When he eventually left the field, the Poloc player hurled his bat 20 feet through the air towards the pavilion near to where a group of children were playing. Carlton skipper Cedric English, who took Sajjad's wicket, claimed he was astonished by his rival's outburst.
"His reaction was totally over the top and was really quite scary," said English. "He was nowhere close to getting an inside edge and, even if he had, you just can't react like that on a cricket field."
It is understood Sajjad will be charged under Cricket Scotland's Code of Conduct with a Level 2 offence which carries a maximum five-game ban.
An SNCL spokesman said: "We will await the umpires' report before making any comment." The incident took the gloss off a victory which keeps Carlton in touch at the top of the table.
