After a delayed start Phoenix won the toss and batted losing three wickets for just 34 runs when the afternoon showers intervened.

A further 75 minutes of play was lost reducing the match to 41 overs a side. Phoenix managed to consolidate with a fine innings from Langford-Smith 36 and some hefty blows from Dickinson 41, taking the home side to 190 for 9 in their allotted overs. Francis 2 for 18 and Cooke bowling some excellent leg breaks with 4 for 48.

The Phoenix total was then adjusted to 187 due to the Duckworth Lewis method. The afternoon showers completely disappeared in the Park as Pembroke responded and at one stage were looking good at 84 for 3 wickets. Francis 30 and Balbernie 25.

Phoenix captain Rory Flanagan then took control with the ball with a tight spell of bowling taking 5 for 30 and ripped through the Pembroke middle order. With the exception of Garth at the tail the Phoenix total proved too much as Pembroke fell short by 15 runs.
