Dungannon Cricket Club is reaching out for help after their home ground was severely cut up after a Country Music Event took place at their home park.  The weekend of August 2nd saw council owned Dungannon Park host the event.  The heavy machinery and vehicles mixed with the wet weather leaves Dungannon Cricket Club in an unfortunate position that was beyond their control.   The resulting damage from vehicle/plant movements over the cricket outfield and some of the football pitches has left the cricket outfield looking like a ploughed field (see photos) with no prospect of any cricket being able to be played in Dungannon for the rest of the season this season.

Dungannon have been able to rearrange some fixtures by switching venues but would appreciate any help with a ground for scheduled 1st XI fixtures due on 30th August and 6th September and with 2nd XI fixtures scheduled for 23th August and 13th September.  Club secretary Jeff Meeke said “We appreciate most clubs are struggling with rearrangements due to the recent wet weather but any help would be welcomed in an attempt to complete our clubs league programme.

To add to the pain Dungannon currently sit bottom of the Ulster Bank division one, section three with 2 wins from 10 games.  It would be a sickening blow to the club if they got relegated because they had no ground to complete their fixtures.  The club is asking any club in the NCU if they can help with ground facilities to contact them.
