Scotland's hopes of taking part in next year's Twenty20 World Cup could be hit for six after Zimbabwe refused to pull out of the tournament.
The Scots missed the chance to secure an automatic place when they finished third in the qualifying tournament in Belfast.
It left them hoping that the Zimbabwe Cricket Board would ratify a recommendation of their delegates on the ICC Executive to withdraw from the event which will be staged in England.
However, African officials have so far failed to agree and are instead sending their chairman Peter Chingoka for crunch talks with ICC bosses in Dubai next week.
Roddy Smith, Cricket Scotland's chief executive, last night insisted he was unaware of any decision over Zimbabwe's involvement.
