Among rule changes being put forward by the Management Board are:

  • Cricket to be organised on the basis of 8 team leagues from 2010
  • A 16 team Premier League in 2 divisions of 8 from 2010
  • 16 Premier League League teams contesting Challenge Cup from 2010
  • 'Overseas' players in Challenge Cup from 2010
  • Coloured clothing in Challenge Cup from 2009
  • Challenge Cup to be played on Sundays to semi-final stage from 2009
  • Division 2 and 3 to be permitted to rearrange  postponed matches midweek on a one-night basis from 2009
  • Greater use of artificial wickets for rearranged matches from 2009
