CricketEurope’s NCU Club Rankings 2008

  • CricketEurope's NCU Club Rankings are an attempt to quantify the relative strength of NCU clubs based upon the league performance of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd XIs in 2008.
  • Where clubs have not entered 2nd or 3rd XIs,  values equivalent to a performance worse than that of the lowest-finishing side in each division have been awarded. 4th and 5th XIs are not included, because fewer than half of all NCU clubs enter such teams and to further award arbitrary values would seem to prioritise quantity over quality, which is not the objective of these rankings.
  • 1st XI performance is weighted more heavily than 2nd XI performance, which is weighted more heavily than 3rd XI performance. Where clubs have equal ranking points, they are separated by last year’s rank.

CricketEurope’s Leinster Club Rankings 2008

  • CricketEurope's Leinster Club Rankings are an attempt to quantify the relative strength of Leinster clubs based upon the league performance of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd XIs in 2008.
  • For 1st XIs, ‘league performance’ means the WM League, except in the case of Trinity, where DGM league performance is counted instead, for obvious reasons. Munster Reds and Ireland Women have not been included.
  • Where clubs have not entered 2nd or 3rd XIs, values equivalent to a performance worse than that of the lowest-finishing side in each division have been awarded. 4th and 5th XIs are not included, because fewer than half of all Leinster clubs enter such teams and to further award arbitrary values would seem to prioritise quantity over quality, which is not the objective of these rankings.
  • 1st XI performance is weighted more heavily than 2nd XI performance, which is weighted more heavily than 3rd XI performance. Where clubs have equal ranking points, they are separated by last year’s rank.
