PERFECT TEN FOR LIMAVADY AS THEY WIN AGAIN
Limavady stretched their lead at the top of Billy Henderson Properties Group North West Division 1 on Wednesday evening as they moved on to 10 points from 5 games with a resounding 8-wicket win over Eglinton.
Chasing the Villagers 163-9 from Tuesday evening, Andy Christie's side got an early breakthrough when Jason Browne caught Tom Riddles off the bowling of Johnny Gardiner with the score on just 9. They had to wait a while for their second however and Andrew Riddles and Des Curry had taken the score to 97 before Bobby Rao trapped the former lbw for 32.
That was to be as good as it got for the visitors as Decker with an unbeaten 74 containing nine fours, and Ian McGregor with 45 not out secured a straightforward win with more than 10 overs to spare. The win opens a 4 point gap between the Roesiders and the rest going into the mini break in league action and Saturday's senior cup matches.
Up at Killyclooney, Ken Colhoun's side recorded an equally impressive win over Bonds Glen's as they easily chased down 217 in a really entertaining night's cricket.
The impressive Dean McCarter blasted 81 which included 10 fours and 3 sixes, whilst professional Dirk Marais remained unbeaten on 67 in a knock that included 5 fours and 6 sixes as Killyclooney won by 8 wickets. Such was the tenacity of their reply that the home team had almost 15 overs to spare when the winning run was scored.
