We reported in our round-up on Monday that the UAE's Saqib Ali was facing disciplinary action for attempting to assault an umpire by throwing a bail at him during a local Twenty20 match.

The disciplinary hearing has taken place with the result that the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council has banned him for one year. The other regional boards in the UAE will also enforce the ban, as will the national side.

The ban means that Saqib will miss the ACC Twenty20 Cup and World Twenty20 qualifier later this year. He does have the right to appeal.
