The Dutch selectors have announced their squads for the two ODIs and the Intercontinental Cup match against Canada next month.

A close-to-full-strength side has been selected for the ODIs, with the English-based players Ryan ten Doeschate and Alexei Kervezee both included. There is only one significant change from the team which earned qualification for the 2011 World Cup: Darron Reekers having retired from international cricket, Hermes-DVS batsman Nick Statham is recalled.

There have evidently been greater problems putting together the side for the four-day Intercontinental Cup match, with skipper Jeroen Smits, Edgar Schiferli, Bas Zuiderent and Ten Doeschate unavailable, and other players away at the European Under-19 Championships, where the qualification process for next year’s Under-19 World Cup begins.

This means that there are three new names in the eleven-man squad which has been announced: South African-born batsman Wesley Barresi (subject to his qualification having been confirmed by the ICC), wicketkeeper Bart Schilperoord, and opening bowler Berend Westdijk.

There is also a recall for seamer Mark Jonkman, who last played in the full international side in Canada two years ago.

The squads are:
ODIs (in Amstelveen, 11 and 12 July): Jeroen Smits (HCC, captain), Peter Borren (VRA), Mudassar Bukhari (ACC), Daan van Bunge (Excelsior ’20), Ryan ten Doeschate (Essex), Tom de Grooth (HCC), Alexei Kervezee (Worcestershire), Edgar Schiferli (Quick Haag), Pieter Seelaar and Nick Statham (both Hermes-DVS), Eric Szwarczynski (VRA), and Bas Zuiderent (VOC).
Intercontinental Cup (in Rotterdam, 15-18 July): Borren (captain), Wesley Barresi (VRA), Bukhari, Van Bunge, De Grooth, Mark Jonkman (HCC), Bart Schilperoord (Hermes-DVS), Seelaar, Statham, Szwarczynski, and Berend Westdijk (HBS). Twelfth man to be announced.
