Next week’s Canadian visit to The Netherlands has occasioned a significant reshuffle of the Dutch domestic programme.
Since one of the two ODIs is to be played on Sunday, 12 July, the Hoofdklasse fixtures for that day have been moved to Saturday, 22 August.
And the preparations for the Canadian matches will also lead to the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup being postponed from their original date, Friday, 10 July.
These games will now take place on Friday, 7 August, the evening before the scheduled finals day for this competition.
It is not yet clear whether the finals will in turn be postponed, but an increasingly crowded programme in August perhaps makes this unlikely. 15 August is the reserve day for the Twenty20 finals.
With 22 August now seeing a full round of Hoofdklasse matches and the semi-finals scheduled for 29 August, the KNCB Board has little room for manoeuvre.
And that is without taking into account the possibility that a home Intercontinental Cup match will be slotted into the second half of August.
