YMCA v Old Belvedere.

Belvedere won the toss and elected to bat in their league encounter with YMCA at Claremont Road on a very overcast afternoon with expectations of rain delays certain to follow and were soon 4 wickets down for 50 runs off 18 overs, after a quick fired 33 from Yogesh. It looked as though the YM attack was well on top until a fantastic 152 run 6th wicket stand with Sameer Dutt brought up a well fought century taking Belvedere to a massive total of 291 in their alloted 50 overs.Beacroft taking 3 wickets for 53, the pick of the YM bowlers on the day.

YM made a solid start in reply to the huge total with 55 for 1 wicket off the first 12 overs when the rain came down and stopped play for over an hour and an half. The match was then reduced to 34 overs under the D/L Method with a revised target of 219. Contributions from Alan Lewis 45, Beacroft 35 and big hitting from Ahmed 41 amazingly saw YM past the target with 2 overs to spare. Richie O'Donnell taking 2 for 36 and Raza 2 for 32, couldn't prevent YM romping home by 3 wickets.
