Nepal and the Maldives have both lost at the South Asian Games, to Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively.

Nepal played in the first match of the day, and lost the toss, requiring them to field first. Dilshan Munaweera soon took the game from them, smashing 63 from 28 balls before he was out. Captain Ashan Priyanjan took over the big hitting from there on, scoring 43 from 32 balls as Sri Lanka scored 166-8 from their 20 overs. Rupesh Shrivasatav was the pick of the Nepal bowlers with 4-29.

The target was out of reach of Nepal, and they could only manage 102-3 from their 20 overs, Anil Madal top scoring with 28. Sri Lanka won by 64 runs.

The second match of the day saw the Maldives take on Pakistan. The Maldives won the toss and chose to bat first, but some tight Pakistani bowling restricted them to just 88-7 from their 20 overs. Husham Ibrahim top scored for the Maldives with 27, whilst Kamran Hussain was the pick of the Pakistani bowlers with 3-25.

This target posed very little challenge for an experienced Pakistani line-up, most of which has played first-class cricket. Ali Waqas and Umar Amin opened the batting and were still there 9.4 overs later when Pakistan reached the target to win by ten wickets, having scored 38 and 43 respectively.

The two non-test teams have a day off on Tuesday, when Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka. Nepal return to action on Wednesday when they take on Pakistan, whilst the Maldives next play on Thursday when they play hosts Bangladesh.
