BREADY LADIES END STRABANE SAINTS’ RUN

They say all good things must come to an end and that was certainly the case last week as Bready de-railed Strabane Saints’ excellent run in the Ladies’ league and cup competitions with a thumping win up at the Park.

Batting first the visitors posted an impressive 126-5 in their 20 overs with Jill Kennedy making 42 and an unbeaten 40 from Kelly Moore putting the finishing touches to a really good display.

Julie Logue claimed a couple of wickets for the Saints but chasing that sort of target, all eyes were on the former Ireland player with the bat if the home side would be able to chase the target.

It wasn’t to be however and although she managed 25, no-one else in the Strabane camp could offer any resistance as they were all out for a very disappointing 51.

Steph Wilkinson returned the stunning figures of 4-6 while Vanessa Buchanan (3-6) wasn’t far behind in an excellent performance as Bready pulled two points clear with their sixth win on the bounce.
